About Metal Mart

Our parent company, McElroy Metal, began manufacturing metal building components in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1963. After years of selling materials to large contractors and building manufacturers, the first Metal Mart location was opened in Austin, Texas in 1985 as a retail outlet, open to the public. The plan was (and is today) to cater to the metal component needs of the do-it-yourself homeowner, contractor, farmer/rancher, local industry, municipalities and service businesses.

Since then, we have grown to our current 40 locations in six states. We are proud of our growth and attribute it to the combination of great customers, great products and great employees.

No project is too large or small. Whether you are building a carport, roofing your dream home, or constructing a building we welcome all. We offer a variety of product options to fit your budget and application needs. Our sales personnel are experienced, knowledgeable and prepared to help from the start through the project completion.

We carry an extensive in stock inventory and receive regular deliveries from our manufacturing plants and suppliers. We manufacture approximately 55% of the products that we sell and partner with a great group of vendors for the balance.

We offer high quality, custom in-house trim manufacturing capabilities for all types of trim and flashing regardless of the roofing type or application. Custom trim needs can typically be produced within 24 hours of ordering.

We know that we have competition in our marketplace and we consider this a positive. When we began 25+ years ago, there were very few competitors. The value and benefits of steel at the retail consumer level has created an industry that we are proud to be a part of. We are a family owned company, enjoy our industry and look forward to earning your trust and business.
